For nine incredible days, I'll be taking on the adventure of a lifetime, where I'll be taken out of my comfort zone, to raise much needed funds and awareness for young people with complex and permanent physical disabilities.
Youngcare is fighting for freedom, dignity and choice for young people with complex and permanent physical disabilities to choose where they live, who they live with, and how they live their lives.

Why This Challenge, Why It Matters

230km
on foot across the Desert — one of the most isolated,
physically demanding environments in Australia. 9 days. Endless sand dunes, extreme heat, no showers, no comfortable bed, no
control over daily choices.
It's a deliberate, temporary taste of the loss of freedom and choice that young
people with high physical support needs live with permanently.
I'm undertaking this trek because it represents something many of us rarely stop to think about: the freedom to choose how we live our lives.
For nine days I’ll be facing exhaustion, discomfort, isolation and uncertainty. But the key difference is that I've chosen to do it, and when it's over, I'll get my freedom back....
